Eden festival is fast approaching and organisers are getting primed and ready having been on site with a team of creatives for the last 4 weeks preparing the captivating bits and bobs of decor the festival has become known for. With the recent news that De La Soul will be pulling out of Eden (for family reasons) coming as a disappointment to many we are still set for what is shaping up to be an incredible Eden. King Charles will be stepping in for De La Soul as headliners. In any case the spirit of Eden is the audience and the network of artists that play and saying that we thought we would put together a list of the acts we are excited to see this weekend in the garden.

THE JOHN LANGAN BAND
’High energy, unhinged, and musically extravagant, taking traditional acoustic idioms and delivering with punk abandonment and virtuosic flare. A dynamic three piece offering a unique sound emerging from Celtic, Gypsy Swing, Roma and Flamenco and tuned in savvy. Wrapping pan European traditional acoustic music with infectious grooves, epic, pounding, sing along, punch the air anthems to intricately arranged instrumentals.’
DUNCAN DISORDERLY & THE SCALLYWAGS (GOOD TIMES MUSIC)
A quartet brimming with character. ’Duncan Disorderly & the Scallywags are not like your normal band. It’s more a way of life! Living, eating and breathing music. They live together as a comunity and Music is how they survive. With exceptional influences from Latin and Reggae to Gypsy and Swing/Jazz; charismatic Duncan and his Scallywags never fail to entertain. It isn’t all sweet jazz and chilled Reggae ‘smokers’, The Scallywags do love diversity with a few ‘banging’ party tunes not going amiss in a late night show.’
One of Eden’s regulars. Variety is the spice of life and musical variety is what Mayawaska offers in abundance. Collecting music is an addiction of Mayawaska’s, one that he channels in to mixing. Each mix is an adventure through an extensive collection he gathers when he isn’t working on his sustainable housing project around the Galloway. Only the crème de la crème makes it through the speakers. His sound tends to the incorporate band music fused with electronic ranging through ethnic sounds and guitar. Check out his extensive collection of mixes on Mixcloud.

This 4-piece Dub, Reggae, African and Blues band and soundsystem collective have been with Eden since it’s conception, hosting the Furry Chillum tent alongside Jumble Sale Sounds. Samson Sounds reside in Glasgow but are originally from Dumfries & Galloway which makes this gig a whole lot more special for them, so expect a jolly atmosphere to accompany a fresh, jazzier set primed for Eden. They have been causing a stir over the past year since releasing their debut Sunrise EP on Dub Combe Records playing many gigs all over Scotland including the Wee Dub Festival, Loch Lomond and supporting Horace Andy. If you are around London on the 28th of June we will be playing a boat party with them.
When: Saturday 5:30am / Sunday Evening

Described as ‘The Thinking Man’s Grandmast Flash’ by Fatboy Slim, JFB is one to look out for. Expect plenty of scratch routines from the UK DMC champion of 2007 and 2011 as he mashes it up through styles crossing over Hip-Hop, Jazz, Funk, Glitchhop, Electro Swing, Breakbeat, Dubstep and Drum & Bass. JFB has plenty of experience having regularly collaborated with the likes of Beardyman and Ed Solo, not to mention many-a-mix on BBC Radio.
